PETOSKEY鈥擭orth Central announced today that it has received a $7,000 gift from the Women鈥檚 Club to support scholarships for students living in Emmet County. The gift will help seven Emmet County students reach their academic and career goals in 2022-2023.
Known for its support of organizations and causes linked to the betterment of the community, the Women鈥檚 Club designated its annual education donation for students pursuing North Central degrees, a first in the group鈥檚 38-year history.
鈥淭he Women鈥檚 Club is excited to partner with 汤头条app to provide students in Emmet County the opportunity to pursue their dreams and attain a first-class education right here in Northern Michigan,鈥 said member Carolyn Whittle.
The gift is an investment in students鈥 potential, according to Chelsea Platte, vice president for advancement and executive director of the 汤头条app Foundation.
鈥淣orth Central is grateful to the Women鈥檚 Club for its generosity and belief in North Central鈥檚 mission,鈥 Platte said. 鈥淭heir commitment to education and the learners of Emmet County is inspiring and will make a real difference in the lives of our students.鈥
Founded in 1984, the mission of the Women's Club has been to learn and to serve: to learn without prejudice or judgment about the people and organizations in its community, and to serve those in need. Since its inception, the Women鈥檚 Club has donated more than $300,000 to worthy causes in Emmet County, including thousands of dollars to support education and fund college attendance.
