Early Childhood Education — Associate of Arts Concentration:
MTA APPROVED
The Associate of Arts Concentration in Early Childhood Education is designed for students
who plan to transfer to complete a bachelor's degree in early childhood education,
elementary education, child psychology, or related fields.
This program meets Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) requirements, which guarantees your North Central credits will transfer seamlessly to participating partner universities statewide.
Early Childhood Education — Associate of Applied Science:
The Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education is designed for students who want to pursue rewarding career opportunities in child care or education workforce immediately after graduation.
Teacher Education — Associate of Arts Concentration:
MTA APPROVED
The Associate of Arts Concentration in Teacher Education is designed to provide a solid foundation for students who want to pursue a career in elementary education, focusing on pedagogy and practices up to third grade.

Education Requirements & Suggested Course Sequences
Preparing for your Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)?
T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Michigan and ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp are partnering to bring high quality CDA training to Northern Michigan.
Complete your 120 clock hours of required training facilitated by ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp faculty to obtain your CDA credential by pursuing coursework for college credit at North Central. A T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Michigan scholarship may cover most or all of the cost for eligible students.
Participants will complete ECE 200, ECE 205 and ECE 215. Those students interested in the Infant-Toddler CDA Credential will add ECE 210 to their course sequence. The first course begins January 9, 2023, and runs until May 5. The classes total 9 credits (12 for Infant-Toddler) and all apply toward an Early Childhood Associates degree. All courses are available online
